Job Description

CK Group are recruiting for a Head of Non-Clinical Safety to join a Global Biotechnology company based in Cambridge on a permanent basis.The Company:Our client is an early-stage drug development company targeting a unique pathway for the treatment of a range of specific neurological and pulmonary diseases.Location:This role is located in Cambridge.Head of Non-Clinical Safety Role:The Role:Your main duties will be to:

  • Be responsible for the non-clinical safety support of all development programs with a particular focus on toxicology project support and be responsible for the safety strategy in multi-disciplinary drug-hunting project teams.
  • Design project-specific in vitro and in vivo strategies to predict, assess and mitigate target- and drug-related safety risks and execute through internal and external experimental capabilities.
  • Lead the development and execution of non-clinical safety drug development plans for novel therapeutics in accordance with appropriate ICH, FDA, and EMA guidelines.
  • Prepare and/or review nonclinical safety portions of CTA/IND submissions, Investigator Brochures, IMPDs, briefing packages for regulatory meetings and represent nonclinical safety at regulatory meetings.
  • Working with the Study Monitor, be responsible for contracting and monitoring of GLP and non-GLP toxicology/safety pharmacology studies across all stages of development.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Education to PhD level in Toxicology, Pharmacology or a related field, with substantial relevant industry experience gained in a pharma/biotech/CRO non-clinical safety environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide innovative solutions to safety and toxicological issues/risks and the ability to excel in diverse multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication skills with colleagues and stakeholders across seniority grades
