Job Description

The RoleNigel Wright are delighted to be exclusively supporting their Public Sector Client in Durham with their recruitment of a PA to their Chief Executive. The PA role will incorporate the following duties:

  • To maintain a computerised diary and appointments system on behalf of the Chief Executive.
  • To produce confidential documents, reports, letters, memoranda, etc. from copy and dictation.
  • Recording of credit card expenditure for the Chief Exec prior to submission to the finance department.
  • To provide resilience in general office management, when required, ensuring an efficient and effective working environment.
  • To organise travel, accommodation arrangements and hospitality requirements on behalf of the Chief Executive.
  • To monitor executive e-mails and download correspondence and distribute as necessary.
  • To answer and deal with telephone/and face to face enquiries, taking all necessary action as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • To provide direction to secretarial and admin support in servicing meetings, collating relevant paperwork and ensuring timely distribution of agendas and minutes in line with agreed service level commitments.
  • To deal with confidential correspondence/information to other senior board members.
  • To provide administrative and clerical/secretarial support to the other senior board members as and when required.
The PersonSkills and Person Spec:
  • Numerical skills, e.g. addition, subtraction, simple multiplication or division, simple statistics
  • Enhanced literacy skills, e.g. composing either original memos, letters or short reports on a regular basis, statement writing
  • Enhanced keyboard skills, e.g. use of spreadsheets, inputting into database systems, etc. where accuracy is essential but speed is not a key demand
  • Able to work under pressure to meet specific deadlines
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • To be of the highest integrity
  • To have a respect for diversity and be committed to the principles of Equal Opportunities
  • To possess a full, current driving license or have access to a means of mobility support
  • Educational up to: Professional Qualifications City and Guilds 111/ A-Levels (minimum 2), BTEC or equivalent/ NVQ Level 2
