Job Description

Working within a highly regulated industry to deliver a critical resource to ensure we can maintain homes and businesses with safe runningwater.Essential to us meeting and exceeding these targets to deliver consistent customer satisfaction are our Groundwater Engineering Unit who are looking for a Groundwater Technician to join the team based in Old Buckenham (near Attleborough), Norfolk.What will you be doingWorking across the whole Anglian Water region, including Hartlepool, youll help ensure full operability of groundwater assets to maintain the upstream security of supply and contribute to the delivery of measured targets. Youll be part of a team that managesour borehole and pump assets that successfully supply 50% of raw water to meet the demand of 4 million customers.Reporting to the Groundwater Engineering Unit Manager, youll undertake a variety of maintenance work on our groundwater assets and provide support on a variety of day-to-day operations including borehole pump replacements/maintenance, and groundwater assetsurveys and inspections.Key responsibilities include:

  • Carry out pump installations at critical and non critical sites ensuring stocks are always maintained.
  • Support the borehole maintenance programme.
  • Support the delivery of the CCTV inspection programme.
  • Participate in the delivery of the headworks inspection and maintenance programmes.
  • Adherence to hygiene standards and Health & Safety policies and procedures when completing work (eg lifting operations).

Training will be provided for any aspects not covered by previous work experience. A fully trained technician would have the followingtraining/skills.Previous experience of the below would be beneficial, though not essential.
  • HGV and Telehandler licence
  • Slinger signalling experience
  • Mechanical engineering experience
  • Any previous welding/fabrication experience would also be of value
This role will require you to be part of a standby rota (1 week per month), so youll need to be motivated, ideally live within a 30-40 minute radius of our depot, have a strong team work ethic and have the capability to work flexibly as you will be requiredto stay away over night at times due to the large geographical areas we cover.Your benefits will include:
