Job Description

Job Title: Research Finance Manager Salary: £42,000 - £50,000Location: Greater Manchester,OL6 6DADuration: 12-month FTCCastlefield Recruitment is currently working with a large public sector organisation in the North West who are looking to recruit a Research Finance Manager on an interimbasis for an initial 12-month period. The role offers flexibleworking and will bepaying between £42,000 and £50,000 per annum.The Role:

  • Provide strategic support to the Research Committee leading the delivery of a range of projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of information systems, processes, and procedures to support research activity across the organisation.
  • Support the Research Information Officer and colleagues in Research Management to identify and meaningfully present data-driven insight and advice that will be used in strategic decision making.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders and other relevant budget holders to ensure the fair usage of grants across the organisation and encourage good practice for competition management.
  • Provide training on research finance to both specialist and non-specialist staff
The Person:
  • Sound knowledge of research activity from a finance perspective in a public sector organisation
  • Significant experience of relevant research administration or project management experience
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a range of projects with an ability to work simultaneously and effectively to progress several different tasks.
  • Knowledge of both short-term deadline driven projects and longer term ones involving multiple conflicting deadlines and coordination across multiple organisational units
  • A proven ability to accurately analyse and interpret complex datasets, synthesising information.
  • Ability to implement system usage to analyse grant distribution.
