Job Description

We require a skilled and highly motivated individual to join our established team of Progress and Welfare Advisors. You will work alongside curriculum staff and the widerProgress Team to provide effective strategies which meet the needs of individual students by removing barriers to learning. You will pro-actively promote the safety and wellbeing of students throughout the college. You will have a specific case load of studentswhilst being on hand to deal with any Pastoral and Safeguarding issues which may arise on a daily basisWhat you’ll need: - You will have a proven track record of safeguarding or pastoral support ideally in an educational setting. You will be experienced in the appropriate mechanisms for dealing with safeguarding and child protection issues.You will have a sound understanding of the range of issues facing young people with barriers to their learning (including social, emotional and behavioural) and have an ability to motivate students with a diverse range of needs. You will have excellent interpersonalskills and empathy in working with students, ability to remain calm and a problem solving approach to managing challenging situations.About us: - Tameside College has an excellent reputation backed up with a good’ Ofsted rating.
