Consultant - Respiratory and General MedicineWe are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to expand our respiratory department here at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will join a highly motivated multi-disciplinary team of consultant chest physicians, specialist nurses and allied health professionals.The department offers a comprehensive respiratory service to the residents of Tameside and Glossop and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across a number of settings including inpatients, outpatients, bronchoscopy, EBUS, and participation at MDT meetings (including lung cancer, radiology and complex care). The successful candidate will also carry a portfolio of national audits and will have the opportunity to act as clinical/education supervisor of doctors in training where appropriate.This is an exciting time to join the respiratory department at Tameside as a comprehensive improvement project is already underway to transform the way we deliver services to improve population health and to support patients to manage better at home with what can be chronic, life-limiting diseases. Key improvements in the management of COPD across the system have already been recognised at regional level. There are close working relationships with key stakeholders across the system (including our CCG, GPs, NWAS, Breathe Easy, Neighbourhood Teams, Health Innovation Manchester) which is enabling the department to transform the way it delivers care to provide seamless pathways that wrap around our patients allowing them to live long and healthier lives. Key projects already in progress include:·Implementation of Lung Health Checks·Implementation of the CURE programme·Focused service improvement on the management of asthma across primary and secondary care·Improvement of discharge bundles in conjunction with Health Innovation Manchester·Development of virtual clinics in conjunction with Health Innovation Manchester·Pilot of myCOPD app in conjunction with Health Innovation ManchesterThis post represents an excellent opportunity to join one of the pioneering integrated care organisations in the countrry which is transforming the way care is delivered to improve the health of the population it serves.
