Soar Recruitment is recruiting for a beautiful woodland Nursery based in Ashtead, Surrey! We are looking for an experienced Nursery Practitioner Level 2/3!Our client is a term time, a sessional nursery for 2 to 4-year-old children, with an additional Holiday Club facility during the school holidays for Primary School aged children. Situated in a beautiful 19th Century gatehouse in Ashtead Park they have their very own wood and gardens, with ducks, rabbits, chickens and guinea pigs, all of which provide a unique combination of home from home nursery and woodland learning and discovery.If you are an L2 or L3 qualified Nursery Practitioner, have a real passion for EY education, love the outdoors in ALL weathers, and most importantly, can teach children to DO things, while inspiring them to BE someone we want to hear from you!This role is term time onlyHours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8 a.m. - 5 pmWednesday 8 a.m. - 6 p.mYour role as a Nursery Practitioner:1. Teach children, offering an appropriate level of support in stimulating learning experiences and challenges.2. Assist with the planning of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum Guidance, and following individual interests3. Help to set up the areas for the delivery of the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session.4. Participate in planning, observations, assessments and record keeping as required5. Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members to ensure the needs of all children in the setting are recognised and met.6. Act as a key person to a small group of children, to oversee the building of an effective family relationship and ensuring each childs individual needs are recognised and met.7. Advise the Nursery Manager of any concerns with, for example, children, parents, staff, the safety of equipment, etc, preserving confidentiality as necessary.8. Ensure that children are kept safe and that there is a clear understanding of when to follow child protection procedures.9. Actively participate at team meetings, supervisor meetings and appraisal meetings.10. Attend training courses as required and to take responsibility for personal continuous professional development (CPD)11. Keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff, acquired as part of the job.12. Support all rules and routines within the setting.13. Be aware of and adhere to all the setting’s policies and procedures, e.g. health and safety, fire precautions, dropping off /collection of children, food safety, cleanliness of the setting etc.14. Ensure that adequate records are kept as required and updated regularly.15. Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers.16. Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Nursery Manager, in accordance with the setting’s business plan/objectives.As a Nursery Practitioner, you will have:1. Level 2/3 Early Years childcare qualification or equivalent2. A passion for helping children learn and reach their full potential3. Willingness to learn and undertake further training4. Knowledge of child protection procedures.5. An understanding of play-based approaches to children’s learning and development.
