Job Description

Adecco are proud to be working with a family run manufacturing company who are looking to recruit a new position into their business, see details below:Job Title: Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical bias)Location: Ashford, KentSalary: up to £45,000Hours: Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4.30pmBenefits:

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:
  • Install, service and maintain various type of processing machinery.
  • Visit customer sites across the UK to diagnose and repair faults.
  • Carry out refurbishments on second hand machinery and equipment.
  • Fault finding and diagnosing problems on machinery.
  • Strip down and replace worn out or damaged components.
  • Slinging and lifting.
  • Plasma cutting.
  • Safe set up and working with lathe turning with various types of materials.
  • Use of abrasive wheels.
  • Use of programmable logic controllers.
Experience and skills required for this position:
  • Must live local to Ashford, Kent.
  • Must have a full UK driving licence.
  • The flexibility to work outside of core hours if required.
  • The ability to commit to overnight stays.
  • Experience of mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Experience of TIG welding, preferable.
  • Experience of fabrication, preferable.
  • Experience of different types of mechanical fixings.
  • Experience using programmable logic controllers.
  • Knowledge of different mechanical drive systems, gearboxes, bearings and drive chains.
  • Knowledge of abrasive wheels.
  • Knowledge of installation and contractors.
  • Knowledge of relays and safety systems.
  • Knowledge of inverters and motor drives.
  • Knowledge of different motor types.
  • General fault finding experience.
  • A background in repairing machinery would be beneficial.
  • Experience within food manufacturing would be beneficial.
