Job Description

Job Title: CAD Technician / DraughtsmanLocation: Ashford, KentSalary: up to £35,000Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am - 4.30pm and Friday 8am - 1pmBenefits:

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:
  • Create detailed and precise 2D and 3D CAD drawings based on project specifications and requirements.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to understand project objectives and contribute to the development of design solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, ensuring that all drawings and designs adhere to industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to identify and rectify any errors or discrepancies before finalising designs for approval.
  • Effectively communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders to clarify design elements, address concerns, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Stay current with industry-leading CAD software and tools to optimise design processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in handling multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing project requirements and time lines.
Experience and skills required for this position:
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Inventor or other 3D packages.
  • Ability to produce drawings to BS8888 Standard.
  • Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • NVQ 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar, desirable.
  • Experience of manufacturing and how that applies to design, particularly metalwork, desirable.
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics, desirable.
