Job Description

TENDER & PROJECT ENGINEER , £29 000.00-£32 000 PER ANNUM, PERMANENT POSITION, 33 DAYS LEAVE + CHRISTMAS LEAVE, EARLY FINISH FRIDAYS, PARKINGJob Title: Tender & Project EngineerLocation: LoughboroughPay Rate: £29000.00 - £32000 per annumRole: PermanentHours: Monday - Thursday 8-5, Friday 8-1Benefits: Pension, 33 days leave plus Christmas leave, 1pm Finish Fridays,Cycle to work schemeA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Tender & Project Engineer/Commercial Engineer to join an International company based in Loughborough. This role is responsible for handling Commercial activities within the Transformer Service Department, reportingto the Commercial Supervisor.Your responsibilities will be for the processing of transformer/tap changer, spares/services customer enquiries and duly processing orders, in line with requirements; schedule and contractual deliverable, agreed within the tendering process, also responsiblefor cash collection.Main Responsibilities of the Tender & Project Engineer will be:

  • Complete tender process as requested by Sales Team which includes:
  • finding records / design for item or a suitable design similar which is handed to engineer to adjust
  • Requesting prices from fabricators on the set vendor list
  • Sourcing new suppliers if needed
  • Liaising with Sales Team over completed tender to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Receiving order to execute the tender and if necessary arranging site visits to perform Risk Assessments, RAMS, health and safety
  • Raising a work order to start project
  • Ensuring Procurement order supplies as per tender documents
  • Ensure sub-contractors are enlisted and contracted
  • Schedule work for the Engineers, issuing job packs
  • Effectively execute changes to the project.
  • Manage allocated projects to ensure they are completed on schedule and within budgeted costs, and highlighting issues at the earliest opportunity.
  • Negotiate and accurately record customer project variations.
  • Ensure all payments are received within the time frame in the contract and highlighting deviations
Requirements of the Tender & Project Engineer will be:
  • HNC, ONC (or equivalent) in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline Adaptable and effective Commercial Engineer
  • Ability to work with all recognised IT systems including advanced proficiency of use in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, etc.) and internet/intranet applications
  • Product knowledge of transformers, components and associated equipment would be preferable.
  • Experience in commercial business practices and contract conditions
  • Experience of dealing with multicultural customers and difficult/demanding clients.
