Job Description

JRS are currently recruiting for a Hardware Design Engineer for their client in Ash Vale. The client is a UK company with over 35 years experience in the design and manufacture of standard and specialist batteries, chargers and intelligent power managementsystems.This role will be varied and requires someone with a "can do" attitude who is self-motivated.Core Technical Requirements

Relevant Degree (or equivalent qualification) with electronics design and test experience
Design of complex mixed signal analogue and digital systems with power elements
Analogue design experience including working knowledge of measurement and data acquisition circuit design
Able to create full life cycle design analysis and support documentation for design in line withcompany standards
Understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design principles with experience in EMC design and application
Experience in prototyping, debugging and functional test of complex electronic systems
Practical electronics skills, including fine-pitch surface mount soldering and knowledge ofgeneral test equipment applications and use
Able to peer review electronics designs and documentation

Beneficial Technical Skills

Low speed digital/logic systems with understanding of communication interfaces (RS485, I2C,SPI, CAN, etc.)
Experience of hardware design of microprocessor-based systems
Experience with power electronics and DC-DC converter-based systems
Working knowledge of product compliance (CE/UKCA) and familiarity with risk-based safetyassessment to BS/EN/ISO standards

Ability to adopt existing design processes/systems and provide input into developing existingprocess
Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic and flexible multi-disciplinary teamworking of a variety of projects
Able to manage own time relative to the time frames and delivery targets
Good written and verbal communications skills
Willing to learn and develop new technologies for cutting edge applications
There should be no barriers to the candidate achieving MoD security clearance
