Job Description

They are looking for a knowledgeable Warehouse/Site Supervisor to be run their Warehouse.Warehouse/Site Supervisor£32-34k Basic Salary (Plus Occasional Overtime) | 45-50 hr week (Mon-Fri) across the hours 6am-6pm (various) | Casual Dress Code, PPE Provided, Weekly Pay | Management of One Staff Member/Lone Working | Stock Management, Forklift (training provided), Health & Safety, Policy Creation, Heavy Lifting | Small, Family Run Business | Experienced in WarehousingAn exciting opportunity has arisen for the right individual to join the company as a Warehouse/Site Supervisor. This role is to manage the warehouse in compliance with company policy, with safe and efficient control of stock, including the loading and unloading of vehicles, together with accurate recording of goods both inwards and outwards. Also, to develop and maintain site hygiene, to inspect and preventatively maintain small tools, plant & equipment, and to carry out site specific risk assessments and site inspections. The ideal candidate will be experienced in warehousing in a supervisory/managerial role and will be a competent individual able to work alone in managing the warehouse.Duties (include but are not limited to):Warehouse duties:

  • Receive and process incoming/returned stock both domestic and international (unload, inspect, label store) reporting all shortages and damages
  • Weekly checking of selected items and reporting all stock discrepancies
  • Re-ordering of stock items
  • Prepare orders for delivery/pick up (pack, wrap, label, ship, load).
  • Prepare materials as directed by Site Supervisors
  • Exercise control over staff PPE items.
  • Optimise use of warehouse stock storage locations (by design and layout)
  • Site Hygiene:
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment (clear walkways, remove overhead obstructions) both within the warehouse and on the general site.
  • Efficient, safe and appropriate disposal of waste
  • Small Tools, Plant, Equipment & Specific Vehicles:
  • Manage & review routine checks, inspections and audits of small tools, machinery, equipment, general buildings and vehicles, requesting and ensuring immediate repairs as required.
  • Ensure all equipment and machinery is properly serviced and presented.
  • Health & Safety:
  • Implement the agreed Risk Assessment and Method Statement and actively promote Health and Safety.
  • Draw up Safe Operational Practices and introduce necessary changes
  • Develop effective policies and procedures
  • Person Specification:
  • Experienced in warehouse management and computerised stock management systems (3 years minimum)
  • Current forklift training certificate (desired but not essential - training will be offered if necessary)
  • Clean, current driving licence
  • Interest in mechanical maintenance
  • Proven Health & Safety experience with good knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation and regulations
  • Ability to work on own initiative, be self-motivated to work alone, but also able to work in a team and to show leadership when required
  • Able to communicate effectively, both written and oral, with all levels of staff and also with customers
  • Take responsibility for issues and resolve them.
  • Be proactive and react to critical situations
