Job Description

A highly established, third party provider of precision CNC machinery is recruiting for an experienced service engineer to join their expanding team.This small but stable business provide a fully comprehensive service to their customers here in the UK. They have a head office based in the midlands, and a strong team of engineers across various specialisms.Benefits including a competitive basic salary up to £40K depending on experience, Company vehicle with a choice of either van or car, fuel card, mobile phone & laptop, 28 days holiday and various other benefitsWhat sets this business apart is their demand for travel. Their own engineers do an average of 35 - 40hrs per week including travel time, giving their staff a better work life balance. There will be occasional UK wide travel but its not frequently, overnightstays tend to be less than 1 a month too.Responsibilities for the role include -

  • Breakdown repairs and maintenance to multi axis CNC Machines using FANUC or Heidenhain controls
  • Carrying out mechanical and minor electrical repairs to ballscrews, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors
  • Using a laptop to connect to the machines and run diagnostics to fault find and make alterations
  • Machine levelling and alignments
  • Diagnostics checks and inspections using a laptop
  • Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
  • Providing end user training and customer support both remotely and on site
  • Travel from home to site covering a region of the East Midlands, but be prepared to travel nationally when required.
With a longstanding team of technicians, and a planner / scheduler based in the office, engineers are well organized and product training is on hand to get up to scratch quickly.To be successful in this role, were looking for the following experience and skills -- Previous experience as a CNC Service Engineer, Service Technician, Maintenance of CNC, Field Technician, - Experience working with FANUC controls - Good knowledge of fault finding, diagnostics checking and inspection of equipment - Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight if required- Clean driving license The business are prepared to be as flexible and supportive as possible, overnight stays and extensive travel is ideally kept to a minimum, but the business requires an someone who is prepared to do both when necessary.
