Job Description

Summary Can you plan and deliver fun events and activities Would you like to work with a diverse range of teams and community groups Do you have a passion for engaging audiences through creativityWe need someone who can innovate and lead through the annual programme of experiences and events here at Antony, giving our supporters reasons to return and inspiring the next generation of National Trust supporters.We’re looking for the right creatively minded person to help around 30,000 visitors each year connect with the house and garden at Antony in new and meaningful ways.Because Antony is in a rural area just outside of Torpoint, Cornwall, please think about how you’d be able to get here before applying for this role.What its like to work here Discover the story of a family who became caught up in the extraordinary events of the English Civil War. Their history is bound up in this beautiful house, which is still the home of the Carew Pole family today. Breathe in the sweeping views as you explorethe landscape garden, which includes a formal garden with playful topiary, modern sculptures and a historic collection of daylilies.Reporting to the Visitor Operations & Experience Manager, youll be line managing a team of Welcome & Service Assistants as well as a Visitor Experience Officer. Youll be joining and leading a small, friendly, passionate, and dedicated team. As we area small team, there may be times the post-holder may need to step in to support other roles during absences for example becoming House Lead.Working with the Collections & House Officer, youll be responsible for duty management on days the property is open. The majority of this will be done by the Senior Programming & Partnership Officer.For more information about our property please visitantonyWhat youll be doing Youll work closely with property teams to develop and implement high-quality, experiences, and visitor programming in order to attract a wide range of new and existing audiences. With support with property teams, youll be leading the establishment of annualprogramming themes, helping deliver deeper community connections and financial business growth.A small team is based at Antony and youll be line managing a team of Welcome & Service Assistants, a Visitor Experience Officer, and a team of volunteers across the property. Youll also have support from the portfolio leadership team and Volunteering &Community Officer for the portfolio.The post-holder will become the operational lead and duty manager for the property throughout the year, with support from the property team to ensure this is covered for as many days as possible.With the family living at Antony, the property has limited opening times between April and October. This is usually on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, as well as Sundays between June-August, Bank Holidays, and other occasional dates. Between November-MarchAntonyis closed except fora number of community and educational groups who visit. Although this post is full-time, flexibility is needed to be able to work on days the property is open or when events, community groups, and educational groups are booked.
