Job Description

Imperial Professionals are delighted to announce that we are working exclusively with one of our high-profile clients to appoint a Head of Health & Safety and Quality on a permanent basis.Job Title: Head of HS&QLocation: NottinghamHours: Office hours Monday to FridayOverview of the role:The Head of Health & Safety and Quality will provide managerial support and subject matter expertise to ensure appropriate environmental, health, safety and sustainability processes and resources are in place. You will have the responsibility for the managementand direction in coordinating all data and operational administrative systems for Quality and Safety requirements. The position works closely with all departments in organizing, documenting and problem resolution.Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop specific EHS&S processes and procedures in support of company-wide initiatives and direction. Lead goal setting, monitor performance and report on progress.
  • Drive ergonomics, industrial hygiene, health and safety training, injury prevention, management system assessments, and compliance programs.
  • Drive facility execution of tactical and strategic initiatives in order to eliminate hazards and reduce or eliminate risks and drive continuous EHS&S performance improvement.
  • Provide specific solutions to on-going EHS related issues.
  • Continuously assess and facility EHS&S hazards and risks and provide assistance to facilities where specific technical expertise is required to meet local regulations or company policies, procedures and programs.
  • Performing site and facility audits.
  • Working closely with Human Resources relating to employee wellbeing issues, health concerns.
  • Preparing a monthly HSEQ report for presentation to Regional Teams.
  • Promote a high level of specialised knowledge in relation to Health and Safety and Quality Legislation and will also work in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • To develop and deliver health and safety training which is targeted at all levels of staff within the organisation.
  • Represent and support where necessary direct investigations and reports on accident/ incidents likely to result in litigation and/or insurance claims, to represent the company in the defence of such claims.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Quality rules and guidelines across the regions
  • Take Ownership of the SG&A challenge.
  • Ensure compliance with IS014001 and IS09001 and that related targets are met or exceeded.
  • Develop skills, competencies and overall capability of regional employees.
  • Provide leadership, clear direction and mentoring support for regional teams.
  • Review monthly forecasts/projects and implement actions to ensure goals are achieved. Drive corrective actions when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience in a Senior Health & Safety role ideally Head of H&S or H&S Director
  • NEBOSH Qualified
  • Experienced working with ISO9001
  • Experienced in carrying out general risk assessments / safety assessments, accident investigation
  • IT skills with an excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Have the ability to motivate employees
  • Ability to initiate, take ownership and drive change
