Job Description

Job Title: Business Improvement AdvisorSalary: £33,622 - £40,473 per annum pro rataWorking Hours: 21 hours per week (3 days per week)Contract: Fixed Term - Immediate start until 31 July 2024Location: Flexible - Largely home-working, with occasional meetings at Headquarters in G83.Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Improvement Advisor to join their Legal Services Team on a fixed-term basis.Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of relevant legislation.
  • Create and update policies, procedures, and guidance notes to ensure statutory compliance and meet internal stakeholder requirements (e.g., Fair Work First).
  • Identify, develop, and embed new policies, procedures, and guidance notes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal Services Team.
  • Explore and implement potential uses of technology to improve service delivery, particularly in the instruction and delivery of advice.
  • Review processes for using template legal agreements to make them more user-friendly and streamlined.
  • Develop workflow and digital solutions to enhance user-friendliness and efficiency.
  • Create and implement a legal training programme to engage staff at all levels on legal issues, processes, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead the development and implementation of legal clinics for internal stakeholders and community organizations.
  • Assist the Legal Manager and other team members in processing instructions and ensuring service levels are met.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade as required.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience in creating, implementing, and embedding internal processes for legal and governance work.
  • Experience in interpreting legislation and providing legal advice on a broad range of topics in a practical, user-friendly format.
  • Ability to understand and translate complicated technical information for various audiences.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Ability to work independently and deliver outcomes within specific timeframes.
  • Strong ICT skills.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline (e.g., law LLB, project management, business management, etc.).
