Summary We have an exciting opportunity to lead a small team of welcome staff and volunteers at Coughton Court.As Welcome Manager, youll head up the staff & volunteer team, on nominated weekends and bank holidays, to welcome our visitors and help them enjoy their visit.As the most senior person in your team, youll lead and empower them to respond to customer enquiriesand site issues and be the face of the National Trust. Youll be experienced in managing people, delivering outstanding customer service and leading on risk management. What its like to work here Coughton Court is one of Englands finest Tudor houses and has been home to the Throckmorton family for 600 years. The house is set in award-winning gardens including the spectacular Walled Garden and orchards. Youll manage a team of 6 Fixed-Term flexible Welcome and Service Assistants and up to 20 volunteers to deliver an exceptional welcome from our car park welcome hut. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager this role will be a key member of the PropertyLeadership team, working with the heads of all the other departments to deliver great service to our 120,000 visitors over 180 open days per year. What youll be doing Youll have overall responsibility for the team, and their safety and working practices, working closely with the Visitor Experience & Operations Manager to develop the site offer and leading on events at property. Youll have responsibility for the daily operation of the welcome area and ensure the delivery of the highest standards of service and visitor experience, using sound judgement and decision making.Youll be using your creativity and communication skillsboth to inspire and motivate your staff and volunteers, and to help provide the friendly face of the National Trust to thousands of visitors.Youll be applying your high level of competence to deal with service recovery without senior support being on site.Youll also be responsible for commercial targets in membership and fundraising at Coughton.
