Job Description

Summary Were looking for a Retail Team Member to join our team here at Coughton Court.The Hours: Two days (13 hours) per week, average shift 10.30am - 5.30pm. Weekend work required.The Salary: £9.60 per hourDuration: Fixed Term until 30 October 2022This role is an hourly paid, fixed term role. Wherever possible we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but were looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. Wedgive you as much notice of this as possible. What its like to work here Coughton Court is one of Englands finest Tudor houses and has been home to the Throckmorton family for 600 years. As a seasonal property youll be joining a small but dedicated retail team based in the NT shop at the entrance/exitof the property.As the largest conservation charity in Europe we work hard to raise funds, so that we can continue to care for all the heritage in our trust. Visitors are a important part of what we do, so youll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellentservice to all our visitors, every day.To find out more about what its like to work within Retail at the National Trust, click here to watch our video. What youll be doing With your love of working with people and desire to provide an excellent service, youll acknowledge, welcome and engage every visitor, offering them help and advice with their purchases. This means youre always on hand to help and the shop is maintainedto a high standard.As a Retail team member it is your role to ensure that the shop is presented to NT standards and all our customers receive excellent service every time they come into the shop. Reporting to the Retail Manager, youll work closely alongside volunteers tomeet the varied needs of our 120,000 visitors. As a busy visitor focused operation you should expect to work regular weekends and bank holidays to a rota provided by the Retail Manager.Youll be responsible for providing assistance to ensure visitors can find everything they are looking for in a relaxed and friendly manner. The team in on each day will flex depending on the time of year and so its important youre as comfortable workingsolo as working with others.Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Youll help us meet our commercial targets by sharing our cause and campaigns and make sure our customers know how important their support is to achieving our conservation.Please read the role profile attached.
