Senior Underwater Electrical & Electronic Engineer

The company is at the forefront of deep water rescue, along with being the leading supplier of commercialand defence diving equipment and saturation diving systems to the commercial industry.Job purpose:To provide engineering design solutions and through life engineering support to the commercial & defence product ranges working as a technical lead for the electrical, electronics and software engineering team. Workload can vary from new product design to meetclient or internal specifications through to supporting an existing clients request to upgrade or change equipment in the field.In addition to the technical requirements above the Senior Engineer role also requires a level of management and leadership inorder to ensure the team is delivering to meet departmental and company expectations.Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering design input to new products.
• Provide engineering support to the existing product range.
• Assess technical queries and provide engineering solutions to a wide-ranging products portfolio.
• Liaise with internal departments such as sales, procurement and production to ensure the best technical solution is provided in all instances.
• Sourcing suitable components and materials when required.
• Creation of part numbers and bill of materials.
• Creation of engineering documentation such as specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification and reports.
• Checking detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation.
• Ensuring engineering solutions are provided on time and on budget.
• Adherence to engineering and company standards and processes.
• Site visits to otheroffices and client assets as and when required.
• Accountability and responsibility as technical approver of drawings and documentation generated within the electrical, electronic and embedded software products team.
• Management of team on performance, development, allocation/delegation of work, compliance to internal and external standards & regulations as well as day to day management such as approval of holidays, sickness leave and time reporting.

• Proven electrical / electronic design skills
• Extensive experience of circuit design, PCB layout and embedded software )(MPLAB, STM32. ATMEL)
• Good knowledge of electrical systems and designing for EMC compliance
• Good knowledge of PCB design software such as Altium Designer (schematic capture & layout)
• Good knowledge of electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical
• Skilled in generating design calculations
• Knowledge of design standards
• Knowledge of industry guidelines such as IMCA
• Previous product design experience would be advantageous

Experience:

• Experience in an Electrical/Electronic Engineer or Product Engineer role
• Experience with PLM system for generating and storage of engineering packages
• Previous diving equipment design experience would be advantageous

Qualifications:

• Electrical/electronic engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
• Any relevant diving qualifications would be advantageous
