Job Description

Engage Talent Partners are pleased to be working on an exclusive project with our Aberdeen based client to source a Senior Design Engineer. Our client specialises in providing engineering services to the offshore and wider maritime industries.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide innovative engineering solutions for the offshore energy sector.
  • Undertake engineering calculations, including the selection of components and materials, enabling effective design optimisation, and ensuring fitness for purpose.
  • Carry out conceptual and detailed 3-D modelling, and detailed drawings creation
  • Carry out engineering analysis
  • Undertake and participate in in-house and client-based design reviews.
  • Review and checking of engineering drawings.
  • Compilation of technical documentation; reports, calculations, specifications, parts lists, assembly, test and operational procedures, manufacturing data.
  • Project engineering and management of design and build projects
  • Client liaison and client facing or projects under own responsibility
  • Provide project cost estimating.
  • Budget responsibility for projects under own responsibility
  • Liaison with 3rd party design verification bodies
  • Interfacing and technical liaison with other company staff across multiple sites, as well as clients and suppliers.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical engineering and a strong background in mechanical design projects relating to both subsea and topsides. Candidates must have strong experience in relation to engineering calculations and relevant softwareincluding MathCAD and Ansys as well as the ability to review and approve drawings and calculations for junior engineers. You must also be proficient in Solid Works for 3d design. In addition, you will be involved in the full lifecycle of the project, thiswill include being the client focal point and supervising the manufacturing assembly and testing process.The successful candidate will be self-motivated and have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
