Job Description

The role Responsibilities:
  • Use interpersonal skills to work co-operatively with colleagues, peers, internal and external partners, working pro-actively across organisational boundaries, sharing information, new knowledge, innovation, and growth ideas

  • General management of the AEDS office
  • Promote the companies Long Term Interests
  • Sacrifice own areas short-term good for the long-term interest of the company
  • Anticipate and prepare for future obstacles that may be less obvious to others
  • Scan the marketplace to identify future changes that may impact on own area and acts creatively to benefit from them
  • Think broadly about better aligning action to benefit the customer expectation
Project Management, Technical and Commercial:
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of budgets and business unit goals
  • Review enquiries and establish most technically and commercially proficient bid approach
  • Assign correct competence to complexity of engineering projects
  • Review and approval of engineering documents and work packages
  • Strictly manage financial performance of projects within business unit
  • Establish effective tools to manage engineering deliverables in an effective and efficient manner
  • Promote continuous improvement in processes with a focus on quality and efficiency
  • Promote innovations within all areas of business
  • Contribute to delivery of efficient systems to aid in development and growth of the business
  • Directly lead complex projects where required by business
  • Complete offshore/site surveys as required by business
  • Prepare and issue department activity reporting as required by senior management team.
Business Development:
  • Actively use existing contacts in industry to promote the company brand
  • Develop and maintain first class relationships with existing and target clients
  • Develop and deliver presentations to clients
  • Actively participate in the development and delivery of the sales strategy
HSQE Responsibilities:

Is this you
  • Experience in the crane industry and/or with a crane OEM for a minimum of 5 years
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Oil & Gas, Ports & Shipyards and/or Marine market, ideally in position affiliated with equipment maintenance
  • Experience in the application of Marine Design Rules and Eurocode (e.g. DNV-GL, Lloyds Register, Eurocode Crane Supporting Structures, etc).
  • Practical skills and knowledge of past and modern crane industry processes and practices
  • An ability to create a workplace environment and culture that allows all employees to develop and excel in their jobs
  • Exceptional customer facing and interpersonal skills to enable difficult situations to be overcome successfully
  • An ability to negotiate effectively and at the highest level together with excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Proficient in, or have good working knowledge of:
o Microsoft office programso Engineering Sotwares (e.g Mathcad, Autocad, Inventor, ANSYS, Solidworks)o Accounting Softwareo SAP systemso Product information management systems / databases
  • Understand how area fits in the bigger picture and how own area of business relates to others, i.e. major suppliers, customers. They should also demonstrate an appreciation of main external influences
  • Possess excellent communication abilities with employees of all levels. Proven negotiation skills are essential as well as keen financial acumen
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MEng/ MSc Degree in an engineering subject and or BSc/BEng and relevant experience
  • Chartered Engineer / Manager status or demonstrable commitment to achieve professional accreditation
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a role directly accountable for technical integrity, HSE excellence and commercial performance
  • Well established reputation in the Offshore, Marine or Ports and Shipyards Industry within the relevant marketplace
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry legislation and trade practices including Class society
