Job Description

Role: Senior PHP Full-Stack DeveloperSalary: £50,000 -£60,000Location: YorkWorking Style: Hybrid - 2 days in the office per weekMy client is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Full-Stack Senior PHP Developer to join their well-established design and web agency based in York. As a key member of their team, you will collaborate with designers to create and maintain a diverserange of mobile-first websites, spanning from small static sites to large e-commerce platforms. They are looking for a candidate who excels in back-end development, possesses a strong eye for design, and takes pride in crafting visually appealing web frontends.Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively within a team, providing regular updates on progress and managing time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  • Work closely with designers to develop and maintain websites using PHP (intermediate/advanced), MySQL, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in WordPress and experience with responsive frameworks like Bootstrap.
  • Debug web applications and scripts, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
  • Pay meticulous attention to detail and design to deliver high-quality work.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills to engage with clients and assist with any issues.
  • Follow instructions diligently and conduct thorough testing in local and staging environments before deploying code.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a commercial environment (agency, freelance, or equivalent).
  • Proficient in PHP (intermediate/advanced), MySQL, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Extensive experience with WordPress.
  • Familiarity with responsive frameworks like Bootstrap.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for web applications/scripts.
  • Keen eye for design and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients.
  • Ability to work autonomously and test own work.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of object-oriented programming and familiarity with design patterns such as MVC.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with PLESK.
