Job Description

Do you have a passion for building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and distributed systems Do you want to work with cutting-edge technologies and solve challenging problems Do you want to join a dynamic and collaborative team in Yate, BristolIfyou answered yes to these questions, then you might be the perfect candidate for the Lead Site Reliability Engineer role at our company!As a Lead Site Reliability Engineer, you are responsible for maintaining and improving our cloud-based infrastructure, processes, and products. You will monitor and provide support for the services running on the cloud platform. You will also develop andimplement solutions using key technologies such as Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and serverless microservices. Furthermore, you will contribute to the strategy and execution of key DevSecOps domains, such as deployment, security, observability, resilience,and automation. You will work closely with different products and functions to guide them through their cloud transformation and help them achieve our cloud first strategy. Additionally, you will manage programmes that address concerns such as patching, access,and incident management. Finally, you will oversee the management of SREs, including recruitment, HR issues, resource planning, escalations, and budget planning reviews.Hours of Work: At least 2 days of team-coordinated office-working per week with the rest as flexible between office-working and working from homeLead Site Reliability Engineer Requirements:

  • Quick learner with the ability to understand and switch between new domains as required
  • Good coding skills and the ability to work across multiple languages (TypeScript, Golang, Python, Kotlin/Java)
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong understanding of development best practices and operates to those standards
  • Strong communication skills, able to facilitate cross-functional communication across organisations
  • Able to critically analyse products, processes, and strategy
  • Capable of informing strategy relating to DevSecOps and implementing solutions to achieve long-term strategies/goals
  • Has a strong desire to improve the organisation and advocates for solutions to advance that goal
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps design and tooling
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies (specifically AWS)
