Our responsibilities include: Plan and deliver major capital projects and lifecycle refurbishment Provide utilities services Manage soft facilities management (i.e. cleaning and catering) Provide a safe place to train Allocate Service Families Accommodation Procure and manage routine maintenance and reactive repair Provide a central register of asset information to advise infrastructure planning Act as steward of the Defence estate Provide the unarmed guarding service We employ approximately 4,900 staff from a very diverse range of professions, and we work across the world; in Germany, Cyprus and the Falkland Islands, Norway, Poland, Kenya, Belize, Nepal and Oman. Job descriptionThe ChallengeIf you are looking for your next challenge and the opportunity to shape the future of Defence, we are looking to build our core team with people who have the vision to take the portfolio through to successful delivery. Our team is embedded with military colleaguesand requires a range of estate, construction and portfolio/project management and support staff. Being able to think imaginatively and challenge the accepted norm is a must. About the TeamMajor Programme & Project (MPP) is accountable and responsible for the delivery of infrastructure capital projects (excluding Minor New Works) to support the Front Line Commands (FLCs) in the UK and overseas. MPP provides infrastructure project delivery andexpert input to the early development of programmes and projects across the FLCs. MPP has adopted the principles of Portfolio, Programme and Project Management (P3M) and will champion them across DIO. MPP operates through a geographically dispersed organisation. Working right at the heart of Defence, the DEO Portfolio is a unique initiative tasked with reducing the size of the MODs built estate whilst delivering more modern infrastructure to meet future military requirements. It was mobilised in 2016 as one of Defencestop three priorities and plays a major part in wider Government projects. The RoleUndertaking the role the successful applicant will need to develop an understanding of the agreed programme management methods and ensure these standards and disciplines are implemented and maintained. If you have strong administrative and communication skills with the ability to effectively manage procedure, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of our team supporting the development of an interesting and varied programme.ResponsibilitiesMain Responsibilities Provide general administrative support to the regional programme delivery team, e.g. meeting administration and coordination, ad hoc reporting, planning support, production of record of decisions and actions plans Update and maintain key documentation via engagement with stakeholders Lead on the collation and production of monthly reporting products for the programme Coordinate internal programme communications and knowledge management, e.g. management of group Inboxes, document management and control, distribution of directives and bulletins Provide a flexible resource to support programme activities such as risk workshops, scheduling, room bookings, etc. Undertake information gathering to support the regional programme as requested by the Programme Manager Respond to ad hoc requirements for new information, reports, changes to schedules or arrangements Prepare highlight reports, regional programme level reports for meetings/boards and other reports as required in the DEO reporting cycle.BehavioursWell assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:
