The post advertised is for 37 hours net, however the Ministry of Defence offers a range of flexibilities to enable a better work-life balance for employees Flexible working may be required on occasions due to working with accommodation teams based across the world. Driving Licence is essential, with the ability to drive overseas. Due to the remoteness of some of the bases and SFA locations, public transport does not serve these areas well. The ability to drive is necessitated by the need to provide an efficient service over sometimes wide geographical areas.Job descriptionThe Role Provide accurate Service Families Accommodation (SFA), Substitute SFA (SSFA), Single Living Accommodation (SLA) and Substitute Service Single Accommodation (SSSA) management information (MI) in an appropriate format including caveats where appropriate, to support Strategic Requirements Planning; and in response to parliamentary questions, freedom of information requests and other requests for information from the wider defence community. Establish what data and in what format it is required and make the best use of resources to collate SFA and SLA data from overseas. Undertake critical analysis of the dataset and recognise and correct errors. Contribute to the development of the accommodation management information systems. Provide guidance on SFA and SLA policy both UK and overseas using JSP 464 as the reference policy documentation. Lead the management and delivery of the Combined Accommodation Assessment System (CAAS) for Overseas SFA including assessment of Condition, Scale & Location Factors. Assist with the UK CAAS.ResponsibilitiesMain Responsibilities Lead on creating and the maintenance of the SFA and SLA database for overseas accommodation Provide quality assured data to underpin requests for management Information (MI) and to meet requestors time lines. Lead on dealing with CAAS queries from in country teams on the MOD Overseas SFA. Manage CAAS and 4-Tier Grading (4TG) overseas Challenge and Appeals iaw JSP 464 policy. Travel Requirements This roll will require UK and overseas travel. About our Team The provision of good quality living accommodation for service personnel and their families is an important priority for the Ministry of Defence (MOD). The MOD’s Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) manages around 50,000 properties in the UK including planning targeted improvement programmes and planning future requirements. On behalf of the DIO, Amey, manages a comprehensive maintenance service; the allocation of properties; SFA furniture; conducting move in and move out appointments; and the provision of improvements. The CAAS for service family accommodation (SFA) is the method of setting charges in the UK and overseas and replaces the 4 Tier Grading (4TG) System (except Germany). CAAS is a fairer and less subjective system than the 4TG System, and ensures that charges for SFA are set in accordance with modern, nationally recognised standards (utilising the Department of Communities and Local Government Decent Homes Standard) The Overseas (OS) CAAS team will be working as part of the DIO Regional Delivery Accommodation Plans and Requirements, this is a team formed of both military and civilian personnel. The OS CAAS team will transition to work alongside the UK CAAS team in the fullness of time. About DIO DIO is part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
