Job Description

A leading engineering business near Wymondham are looking to hire an Electronics R&D Engineer to work within their Engineering department, to provide worldwide support for both R&D projects and for customer based Applications Engineering.Overview of Electronics R&D Engineer role:

  • As the Electronics R&D Engineer, you will work within the Engineering team, assisting with technical queries, providing support to external and internal customers on electronic, electrical and mechanical matters.
  • Carry out datasheet and catalogue updates, maintaining spreadsheets used to control and document product approvals.
  • You will be involved in R&D projects to further develop and introduce new & extended product ranges.
Tasks and Responsibilities of Electronics R&D Engineer:
  • Support internal & external teams with technical enquiries.
  • Support offshore manufacturing with technical order handling, administration, costing and custom design work.
  • Assist in sourcing & specifying test equipment, then design lab testing to gather technical data.
  • Support existing test lab work and develop tests.
  • Participate in New Product Development & the design of parts & their transfer to production.
  • Manufacture & evaluate samples as applicable
  • Generation of reports and presentations
  • Maintain spreadsheets detailing & recording approved range information
  • Liaise with IT in developing spreadsheets.
  • Provide Application Notes, technical articles and data sheets to ensure technical data is current.
Qualification and Skills require for Electronics R&D Engineer:
  • Experienced in analogue electronics, preferably with discrete component knowledge.
  • Qualification or degree in Electronics Engineering (or related subject)
  • Experience in Microsoft office packages (word, excel etc).
  • Strong writing skills suited to datasheet writing and formatting.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities within a fast-paced workplace
  • Strong attention to detail and propensity for accuracy of work product
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • IT or coding experience useful
  • Lab or test experience valuable
