Job Description

Boarding House Support Assistant Location: Wymondham, NorfolkSalary: £23,893 per annum (Pro Rata £19,303 per annum)Job Type: Term Time Only, 38.75 hours per weekOur clients College has over 400 staff dedicated to supporting World Class education. The College currently is one of the top State Schools in the Country and is recognised as one of the highest performing State Schools in the East of England, this is backedup by its most recent Ofsted inspections which rated the College as Outstanding in both Education and Boarding 2023.The College is focused on providing outstanding quality to their students and staff not only in education but also through its provision of exceptional facilities and accommodation on site across its 83-acre campus.The RoleThey are looking for Boarding House Support Assistants, who will be responsible for the welfare and behaviour of students when in the Boarding House during the day.Skills and Experience The personal competencies expected of all College support staff are:

  • The ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others.
  • Able to maintain positive relationships with all and able to work as an effective and flexible part of a team; willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit the team.
  • Willingness to accept responsibility for your own actions; the ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and accept challenges.
The personal competencies expected of a Student Supervisor are:
  • Approachable but authoritative
  • Professional, conscientious, and able to act with discretion
  • Able to work upon your own initiative in a calm and patient manner
  • Self-motivated, efficient and practical
The qualifications and previous experience required for a Boarding House Support Assistant are:
  • A good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Previous experience in a role working with young people
  • Previous experience of dealing with attendance or safeguarding issues (Desirable but is in no way essential)
