Hales Group are extremely excited to be working with a local Fresh Produce Farm based just outside of Wroxham, in finding them an experienced and driven Farm Operations Manager.FARM OPERATIONS MANAGERFULL TIME - 40 HOURS (flexibility required during Harvest)Salary - Competitve and DOEWROXHAMAs the Farm Operations Manager you will be reporting into theFarm Director to achieve the agreed financial and production targets for the fruit andarable enterprises for which you are responsible and other objectives as may be agreed.Duties and Responsibilities:Health and SafetyPromote and support a safe working environment and foster a culture of ‘safety first’ and ‘make it safe’Ensure all H&S policies are adhered to by employees and temporary labour; provide training where required and report any concerns to the Head of Farm and Fresh Fruit Production.Operations StrategyManging the harvesting of all crops.Develop and implement operational strategy. Continually review and adjust the strategy in line with internal and external changes.Develop, review and deliver positive KPI results in People (H&S), Quality, Cost and Service that deliver against the operations strategy.Have a proactive approach to new business and product development including trial work, visiting research stations, networking with other growers and industry stakeholders and keeping updated with press information.Team ManagementDevelop and actively promote a positive Health & Safety Culture.Align and lead the harvesting team to ensure they are engaged, high performing and deliver green KPIs.Coach them to identify and provide effective solutions to red KPIs.Manage on going performance and succession of direct reports. Build teams through skills assessment, training, coaching, feedback and support.Labour ControlManage the availability of labour against the plan and ensure that all fields optimise labour across the Farm.Budget and Capital projectsPrepare budgets, monitor and improve cost efficiencies in conjunction with the finance department.Ensure farm machinery is fit for purpose and all farm buildings are maintained in good order.Continuous ImprovementIdentify possible business development and keep informed of any new developments and modern production techniques.Site Communications & EngagementLead by example ensuring appropriate cross functional alignment & engagement with all support functions as appropriate to the site needs and the benefit of the business as a whole.Actively manage all site communications with all internal and external stakeholders.
