Job Description

Role DescriptionJob Title:General ManagerPre-Delivery & Safety Inspection Operation (PDSI)Location:WorksopReports to:Head of Customer Workshop ServicesSalary£52,000 - £59,000 per annum + bonus + excellent benefit packageSummaryAn opportunity to help commission and manage a new operation within Scania (Great Britain) Limited. You will be a process driven manager who can lead and develop a team to deliver consistent and sustainable high standards throughout the end to end new vehiclePDSI process. A strong planner and organiser combined with the ability to meet critical deadlines, whilst achieving profitability targets, will be some of the pre-requisites of this role. You will need to be a strong communicator and the ability to developa close working relationship with Scanias central and regional sales teams.Core Values

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure the PDSI operation continually operates in a safe and healthy environment
  • Build, engage and energize your team to deliver the demands required of the PDSI operation
  • Deliver the highest quality standards in line with Scania Brand and customer expectations
  • Manage and deliver the agreed site operating budget
  • Manage and deliver agreed operating KPIs
  • Identify and understand problems, situations and issues and takes corrective action
  • Prioritise a range of complex demands to achieve critical deadlines
  • Proactive understanding of applicable vehicle compliance legislation
  • Provide your team with clear guidance regarding what needs to be done, when and by whom
  • Effectively manage potential peaks and troughs in workload across the week/ month/ year
  • Help define the culture within the PDSI operation and coach, motivate and encourage accountability across the team in order to achieve targets
  • Identify deviations and generate appropriate solutions and action plans
  • Develop a close working relationship with Central and Regional Sales teams and Services Operation
  • Develop a close working relationship with suppliers ensuring availability of just in time components
  • Develop a close working relationship with external regulatory bodies (DVSA)
  • Ensure that the highest standards of housekeeping are continually being applied
  • Develop best practice and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Where applicable recognise the need for change and be receptive to new ideas and working methods

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing a retail LGV dealership
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and sustain good relationships
  • Ability to actively seek solutions to problems
  • Ability to plan and organise workloads and priorities to achieve deadlines
  • Strong advocate of process adherence
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Preparation of concise analytical reports with good data integrity and attention to detail
  • Full UK driving license
Education and/ or Experience
  • Recognised fleet engineering qualification i.e. HND, City & Guilds, IMI, IRTE
  • Competent PC user with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Competent user of the CDK (Autoline 8.35)
  • Health & Safety qualification in IOSH or NEBOSH
