Job Description

Purpose of the Role:Our client, a specialist in precision engineering, are seeking an experienced Heading Setter.Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, you will be responsible for setting and running a compliment of 3 heading machines within the structural heading department.As a Heading Setter your duties will be:

  • Performing all necessary quality inspection checks.
  • Making a wide variety of different products.
  • Maintaining the correct MOS speeds at an efficiency of 75%.
  • Performing SAP transactions in relation to wire consumption and batch confirmations.
  • Being responsible for the accurate reporting of all data relative to the job role.
  • Ensuring all Company and legislative requirements for EHS matters are always maintained.
  • Being responsible for the quality of work they produce.
  • The successful Heading Setter will have the following skills and experience:
  • Time- Served Engineer’ with mechanical knowledge, understanding and background.
  • HNC in an engineering discipline is desired but a minimum of a level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (or a willingness to work towards one) is essential.
  • Working off your own initiative and have a strong problem- solving mindset.
  • Capable and able to demonstrate the reading of product drawings.
  • Capable and able to use mechanical measuring equipment such as shadow graphs, Micrometres, various gauges and Vernier Callipers.
  • Work well on own initiative and without direct supervision.
  • Flexible and can-do’ approach to the job.
  • Candidates must be flexible to working hours of a three-shift working pattern of 6-2, 2-10 and nights. Monday- Friday.Contract is temp to perm.You will receive a salary of £14 - £19 per hour, dependent on experience. Required skills
