Job Description

Reed Education are supporting a Woodford Green Secondary School with their recruitment for a Computer Science Teacher to deliver the curriculum for the 23-24 Academic Year.Are you a passionate Computer Science teacher eager to inspire and educate the next generation of tech enthusiasts Are you committed to fostering computational thinking and digital literacy skillsThe school has an excellent reputation locally and strong examination results making this a fantastic place to work and see the rewards of being teaching.This is ideal for someone who can commit to a confirmed long term post for the academic year with an opportunity to become permanent if mutually agreed.Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Computer Science lessons to students of varying abilities and age groups.
  • Teach a range of topics including programming, algorithms, data structures, and computer systems.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies and resources to engage students in active learning.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work, assessments, and projects.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the curriculum requirements.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in the field of Computer Science and integrate relevant advancements into your teaching.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to organize extracurricular activities and competitions related to Computer Science.
About you
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Specialism in Computer Science (a degree or postgraduate qualification is desirable).
  • Proven experience teaching Computer Science at the secondary level.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • A passion for your subject and a commitment to instilling a love of learning in students.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to deliver engaging and inspiring lessons.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant exam board specifications.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Dedication to students holistic development and fostering their moral and ethical understanding.
