Job Description

STRESS ENGINEER – Permanent - WolverhamptonRole: Stress EngineerEmployment: PermanentLocation: WolverhamptonIndustry: Aerospace, DefenceSalary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits packageProfile:This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and accomplished Stress Engineer to secure a permanent position working on a number of projects within the aerospace sector.Duties:

  • Supporting Analysis and development of flight control actuation products and components
  • Provide stress calculations and summaries, reports and approval of component and assembly drawings.
  • Support the development department by compilation or review of test specifications
  • Defining loading cycles for test and reviewing test results.
  • Undertaking critical hand calculations on aerospace materials
  • Undertake routine calculations using MathCAD, NASGRO and ANSYS
  • Consider manufacturing processes on the strength of components and analytical outcomes.
  • Experience Required:
  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Analytical, problem solving approach to your work
  • Experience in hand calculations
  • Experience in Mathcad, NASGRO and ANSYS
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials -mechanical, static and fatigue properties
  • Knowledge of gear materials is desirable
