What youll be doingThis role is working within the applications support area of the business and is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take the next step within application support. We are looking for someone who will eventually become a technical subject matterexpert on various products and applications. The role will involve supporting releases, server and product configuration, system security and custom integration.You will be trained to gain an in-depth specialist product knowledge working as part of a solution delivery group and you will be delivering high profile changes including upgrades, patches and new features.Other responsibilities may include leading release activities including code deployments and configuration updates, creating proof of concepts to demonstrate new features for the development team, liaising with vendors, providing support for the implementationof technical infrastructure components, undertaking problem and route cause analysis for product incidents, overseeing and co-ordinating software patches.Who youll be working withTheyre an award-winning Challenger bank who specialise in lending and retail savings.   • 4 years or more of application support experience is essential.
  • 4 Years or more experience in complex system release management is essential.
  • 4 Years or more experience with the following application servers: Tomcat, JBOSS, Web Sphere.
  • 4 Years or more experience with Apache web servers.
  • 4 Years or more experience in supporting application databases (Preferably Microsoft SQL Server).
  • 4 Years or more experience in supporting Java applications.
  • Knowledge of application security principles is essential
  • Basic knowledge of Web Service (e.g. Rest , SOAP) is essential
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Server is essential
  • Basic level of JQuery, Javascript, SOAP and Rest WS is desirable
