Job Description

Are you a skilled and ambitious individual looking for a challenging and rewarding role Are you searching for a role where you can use your expertise to develop an organisations operational systems If so, this role is for you.We are looking for a talented Operations Manager to join a well-established company in Wolverhampton, on a permanent basis. As the Operations Manager your Responsibilities will include planning, directing, and coordinating the operations. You will also be responsiblefor improving performance, productivity, and efficiency through the implementation of effective methods and strategies.Duties will include but limited to:

  • Assist with the implementation of the X-policy Matrix and daily and weekly metrics aligned to customer demand which supports the operational strategy.
  • Create and implement best practice in manufacturing, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Identify and execute business improvement opportunities and justify with the appropriate rationale and implementation of these projects based on future growth plans.
  • Instigate continuous improvement initiatives and lead the change within operational activities ensuring that the SMART ideas are captured and implemented and could increase output, save time and effort.
  • Manage the daily activities of the logistics linefeed operation to maximise scheduling and delivery of commodities to the customer.
  • Own the Operations processes, ensuring all metrics are relevant and have targets that ensure problem solving is being driven by the team on a daily basis. Eg. Schedule adherence, performance utilisation, adherence to budget and near miss reporting
  • Lead the factory cadence and execution to ensure all plant metrics, SQDIP (safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity) are met.
  • Allocation & management of budgets, including overtime, headcount, department costs aligned to customer demand requirements and demonstrate the ability to flex costs accordingly.
  • Responsible for providing effective leadership to the supervisors and/or team, enforcing Company standard and act as a role model. Proactively engage with the workforce to adopt a continuous improvement approach.
  • Management of the team, including coaching, motivation, appraisals, reviews, KPIs, one-2-one meetings, disciplinary matters and grievances as required. Ensure 6 monthly and 12 monthly appraisals with the team and set SMART objectives for each individual.
The successful candidate will have experience as a Production Manager / Operations Manager within a similar manufacturing / logistics environment with a proven management record (3 years min). Ideally educated to degree level with a background in logisticsengineering & able to demonstrate a track record of idea creation and implementing change.Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and understanding of continuous improvement techniques as well as Knowledge of SAP and scheduling systems, competency in MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint.Working on their rotating shift pattern: Mon-Thurs 06:00-14:30 / 14:30-23:00 ( Fri 06:00:-13:30 / 13:30-21:00)Further training on company policies & procedures will be given.As the Operations Manager, you will be rewarded with a competitive salary and a range of benefits including:
