Job Description

Are you an experienced Calibration Engineer looking for an exciting new opportunityAs a worldwide specialist in calibration and asset management services, our stated mission is to optimize the industrial performance of our different clients by enhancing their measurement processes. Starting in 1999, Trescal has grown massively covering a total of 25 countries worldwide… Would you like to be a part of our successWe are looking for an experienced Multi Skilled Calibration Engineer to work on a wide range of measuring equipment from dimensional and pressure through to temperature. This role will be based at our clients site in Wolverhampton.What will I be responsible forJoining our team as a Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for the calibration of gauging and all peripheral tasks associated with running a small calibration laboratory. The goal is to ensure that equipment is calibrated to meet the customers KPI and turnaround time requirements. Your daily tasks will include:

  • To calibrate a range of dimensional measurement equipment such as micrometers (internal, external, depth and bore), plug and pin gauges, feeler gauges, lever and plunger dial gauges, radius and screw plug gauges and plain setting rings.
  • To additionally calibrate pressure gauges, temperature controllers and process ovens.
  • Be able to use the following calibration laboratory standard equipment, Universal Length Machine (ULM), gauge blocks, surface tables, height gauges, deadweight testers, thermocouples and multi-meter.
  • Manage the entire calibration process from start to finish to meet customer expectations.
  • Use various metrology software processes to take measurements and record data.
  • Prepare product reports, documentation and certification.
  • Create work instructions/procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Work with the customer Quality Department to ensure all metrological processes are correctly recorded.
  • Take part in customer and external Quality audits as the calibration department representative.
  • To follow customer and Trescal QHS&E regulations as they apply.
  • Be flexible to work Overtime if required.
  • Our ideal Calibration Engineer
  • Proven working experience in an Aerospace calibration environment backed up with a practical knowledge of using the Standard Equipment listed above.
  • Preferably educated to ONC or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Ideally have completed a relevant Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with reading and interpreting basic dimensional drawings.
  • Familiarity with modern software tools (e.g., MS Office, Indysoft or other asset management packages)
  • Must have good interpersonal skills as you will be required to work by yourself as part of a wider customer team.
  • Have knowledge and awareness of ISO 17025, ISO 9001, Nadcap
