Job Description

Are you an experienced Engineering Manager looking for a fresh challenge in WolverhamptonWe’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join a well-respected team in Wolverhampton. This could be the ideal role to take your career to the next level and be part of something special.The successful candidate will be responsible for working on continuous improvement, operational efficiencies, and layouts.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role (3 years min) and have a strong understanding of engineering processes and techniques. It’s essential that you have a good working knowledge of both practical and theoretical engineeringand the ability to communicate effectively with other teams.You must have a good eye for detail and the ability to problem-solve in difficult situations. A sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and legislation, as well as experience of developing and maintaining engineering procedures, will be beneficial.The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Act as a Senior member of the EMC Engineering Team being a key interface between the client and all internal areas of the business.
  • Ensure engineering function is a aligned with operations team and other support functions and contributes towards the overall strategy and objectives.
  • Lead teams of Engineers to ensure departmental deliverables are achieved, potentially across multiple sites.
  • Identify innovations and best practices and evaluate and quantify its cost and benefits.
  • Work with plant teams to continually monitor and review MTM based headcount plan versus actual to ensure alignment is maintained.
  • Contribute towards the development and delivery of long-term engineering strategy to ensure continual development of function and the delivery of best practice solutions across site.
  • Develop, manage, and ensure effective delivery of engineering elements of BPI projects, continuous improvement initiatives and Site launches.
Working on their day shift: Mon-Thurs 07:00-15:30 Fri 07:00-14:30Further training on company policies & procedures will be given.Key Skills/Qualifications:
  • Ability to empathise and understand client’s viewpoint and requirements and act as the champion within engineering function.
  • Ability to interpret data and derive solid conclusions from analysis.
  • Possess strong IT skills, particularly MS Excel, & PowerPoint. Familiarity of AutoCAD would be an advantage.
  • Strong project management and operational experience.
  • Ideally educated to degree level in a related discipline.
  • Lean and Six Sigma practitioner.
  • Trained in application of MTM and Headcount modelling.
  • Demonstrable background in MP&L/ Inventory Management.
