Job Description

Position - Deputy Manager - EBD childrens homeLocation - Wolverhampton West MidlandsSalary - £30,000 - £33,000 Per annual (depending on experience and qualification).Bonus - Up to £2,500 in Bonus per annumBonus - £2500 Joining bonusA little about us:Caring steps is a independent company offering a childrens residential setting which promotes a family home environment. Our home Rose Quartz House offer support and accommodation for up to three children and young people (male and female) aged between5 and 14 who display emotional and behavioural difficulties and ASD.At Caring steps we believe that building positive relationships between the adults that care for our children and young people is a key element in them making progress and achieving their own individual mile stones.Position - Deputy Manager EBD childrens homeLocation - Wolverhampton West MidlandsSalary

  • £30,000 - £33,000 Per annual (depending on experience and qualification).

Requirements:
  • Must have Level 3/4 Diploma in children and young people residential childcare or equivalent. (Essential).
  • Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working in a Deputy position role within a childrens residential care setting with children and young people with challenging behaviours. (Preferred).
  • Current full driving licence required due to the nature of job role (Essential).
Responsibilities of the Deputy Manager:
  • To deputise/ act up for the Registered Manager in their absence
  • To support the Registered Manager in ensuring compliance with the company Policy and Procedures and meeting all OFSTED regulations.
  • To assist the Registered Manager in ensuring that the statement of purpose for the home is appropriate and updated on a regular basis.
  • To be a part of an on call system outside of designated hours.
  • To ensure that all staff act in a professional manner at all times.
  • To ensure all policies and procedures, as well as risk assessments, are adhered to at all times.
  • To ensure that all staff comply with the duty rotas.
  • To ensure that all staff read the Daily Log Book to check all messages at the beginning of work or at any point during the working day as required. e.g. following a day trip.
  • To ensure that all staff have written up any incident / accident forms or restraint forms as applicable and that such information is passed to the Registered Manager within the agreed timescale.
  • To ensure that all staff are familiar with and follow Local Authority Child Protection Procedures.
  • To report immediately to the Registered Manager any issues regarding Child Protection matters.
  • To ensure that all staff understand and implement the relevant safeguarding procedure in line with the company policy guidance.
  • To ensure that the standards within the home are maintained and developed in line with the Care Standards Act 2014 and the Children Home Regulations 2015.
  • To ensure that the protection and welfare of children and young people is the paramount consideration to the staff team.
  • To ensure that all staff maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • To ensure that all staff under their supervision undertake and complete training in accordance with their induction training schedule and Personal Development Plan.
  • To complete on call duties as and when required in line with management rota
  • To be flexible in hours of work in order to meet tasks required.
  • Conduct supervisions with senior support workers
  • To be aware of Health and Safety regulations particularly as related to the upkeep of the building and its surroundings.
  • To undertake any other duties that may be reasonably requested.
  • To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and be aware of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to and promote the Companys Equalities, Inclusion and Diversity Policy
  • To liaise with other professional agencies as and when this is required in a professional manner.
  • To chair staff and children and young peoples meetings.
  • To work proactively with monitoring bodies to ensure that services are developing beyond the set standards.
  • To safeguard and promote the welfare and development of the children and young people.
  • To ensure that the children and young peoples needs are recognised and met where possible. This includes ensuring that they are free from discrimination within the home and to challenge discrimination from outside of the home.
  • To ensure that the home meets the individual needs of the children and young people as well as the needs of the group.
  • To ensure that the home provides an environment that is safe and sensitive to the needs of the children and young people being looked after.
  • To support the Registered Manager and team to ensure that the admission of children and young people to the home is welcoming and reflects the expectations of the care plan.
  • To support the Registered Manager and the team to ensure that Children and Young persons stay complies with the ethos of the company and the care plan.
  • To review the implementation of Care plans in line with legislation and company guidance.
  • To undertake any other such duties assigned by the Registered Managers, Responsible Individual and/or directors.
