Job Description

HR OfficerLocation: CoventryOffice-basedSalary: 35k Depends on ExperienceOur client is a market leader in High street retail and is currently seeking an HR manager for its head office in Coventry.Your role will be to provide a dedicated HR advisory service across the business, supporting the Area Managers, Clinical Managers, and Line Managers in employee relation activities and the employee lifecycle.Key DimensionsBreadth of job knowledgeStrong HR administration background with some experience of managing more complex HR issues and certainly adesire to expand their experience in this area. Exposure to working within retail is preferable but not essential withBasic understanding of employment legislation, company policy and procedures and recruitment/new starter process.Key Activities / Accountabilities (not an exhaustive list) To maintain and up-date manual and computerised HR and Payroll information systems, ensuring the accuraterecording of personal, employment, payroll and staffing establishment information. To assist, oversee and produce the preparation and issue of appropriate contractual documentation in relation toappointments, terminations and variations of employment in a timely and accurate manner. Be responsible for the provision of HR expertise Provide a timely, effective and human resource service in accordance with organisational policies, best practice andcurrent legislation Develop and implement HR strategies that support the core business strategy and will be responsible forsupporting the Directors and line managers with the wide range of people related issues in a changing andcompetitive environment Contribute to organisational development and implement it, including working with internal departments in thecompany to ensure HR best practice and that policies are aligned where appropriate Integrate the FCA requirements in line with the HR functions Manage and promote Health & Safety within the workplace and ensure that the workplace is free from hazards toemployees / visitors Staff recruitment and retention Performance Reviews, developing SMART objectives and ensuring these are in place for all employees Manage training and development across the business Monitoring attendance and absence levels along with timekeeping Assist with processing and the preparation of payroll Dealing with all disciplinary, grievances and dismissal cases Completing reference requests. Additional ad hoc projects when required. Work closely and support the Payroll administrator. Have a working knowledge of the payroll system so the process can be supported if required.Role DescriptionOther Working Conditions Very occasional travel to stores if and where required.Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certificates B grade or above GSCE or pass at A-level in English & Maths Proven relevant work experience (see below) CIPD qualified (or near completion) or equivalent - desirableKnowledge, Skills and Experience Strong HR administration experience Experience within a HR Management position Ability to work and adjust in a fast-paced environment Ability to organise and prioritise workload A strong commitment to customer service, ensuring queries and complaints are resolved with as soon aspossible exercising patience. Decision making - able to be clear and decisive based on information and challenging as required. Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, email and the Internet Knowledge of basic HR policies Experience within a busy operational office environmentKey Competencies The ability to work well in a team The ability to cope with the pressure of fast-paced work Positive mental attitude with the ability to provide solutions to problems Confidence, driven and enthusiastic To be well organised and good at planning Excellent attention to detail and meticulous A practical thinker - able to easily resolve problems Ability to take direction from senior managementRegretfully due to the volume of responses generated A2Z Recruitment Solutions are only in a position to contact those candidates who have been successful.
