To help achieve this, the authority is making a capital investment in excess of £1.5bn over the next 5 years.To enable us to start work on meeting this vision the Environment, Transport and Infrastructure Directorate (ETI) is creating a Programme Management Office PMO) within the Infrastructure, Planning and Major Projects (IPMP) service. The PMO will support not only the capital major projects that are being initiated within IPMP but also the delivery of all the programmes and projects across the wider directorate including multi-million-pound highways, environmental and waste schemes.The IPMP service has a vital role in helping to achieve the council’s ambitions and this role will report directly into the Programme Management Office, Manager. This is a pivotal post in ensuring we meet the ambitions and service objectives which align to the council’s vision. As an experienced programme planner, you will support the delivery of high-profile projects as part of the council’s capital major infrastructure programme.Our aspiration for the successful applicant is to be a key player engaging with senior management as well as other stakeholders to both develop and agree on project briefs, be responsible for creating project initiation documentation (PID) and project/resource plans. You will be responsible for producing and maintaining programme plans and co-ordinating the work of ETI to ensure the dependencies and critical paths are managed and progress remains on track to agreed cost, time and quality criteria.You must be an experienced MSP/PRINCE 2 Programme/Project Manager and have experience of managing multi-million-pound budgets. You will be able to develop good programme management expertise in others and enhance processes within the service.The post holder requires strong influencing skills and the ability to bring project sponsors together to form an effective project team.
