Your OpportunityAn international organisation with operations spanning the globe, is working with the team at Network Professional to identify a Head of Technical Financial Advice for their Woking based office (working from home 2 days a week). This pivotal role has the focus of providing a customer focussed, technical finance advisory service, providing guidance on technical accounting matters, regulatory issues and tax matters for senior contacts across the organisation. This important and influential role has come about due to a restructure to ensure the business has enhanced financial advice and would suit an ambitious and capable technical accountant, who has probably trained within a top ten accountancy firm. It is critical to the senior leadership team to identify an individual with strong knowledge of technical accounting and financial standards, who can also work collaboratively across the business and operate in a customer focussed way to ensure stakeholders across the globe get the guidance they need.The key deliverables of this role include:-Horizon-scanning to anticipate potential impacts of new accounting standards (in particular IFRS and USGAAP) and assess the impacts, options, solutions and changes required to ensure a smooth running and compliant global business.-Develop, implement, and maintain technical guidance training and operating procedures, to ensure resources are in place to guide on common areas of technical advice globally.-Ensure year end accounting procedures, controls, and Financial Statements are congruent with international accounting standards.-Work in close partnership with Legal Counsel to ensure financial requirements of the Legal Compliance Standard Operating Procedures are implemented, along with appropriate supporting financial controls.- Lead efficient, effective, and timely completion of key regulatory and compliance returns ensuring procedures are as simplified and systematised as possible.- Provide technical accounting and tax guidance to the Leadership Team on major corporate issues such as M&A, target operating models and structural enhancements in partnership with Corporate Development, Legal and Strategy teams to provide more informed decision-making across the globe.-Act as a positive role model in all stakeholder dealings and champion a collaborative approach between Finance and Operational teams.What you will need to apply:This influential role would suit a technically strong, degree-level educated qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) who has preferably trained in a top ten firm or has exposure in a technical financial role in another international business.
