Job Description

We value the courageto take action to make a difference.We are looking for a high-calibre and experienced Commissioning Manager to be at the heart of our Corporate Parenting Commissioning Team, within the Children, Families and Lifelong Learning directorate. As a team we want to be defined by high aspirations;empathy; taking real action; and not giving up on children and young people. We want to appoint someone who brings a relentless focus on enabling the best outcomes for children and young people, backed up by strong experience of commissioning and/or deliveryin childrens social care or a related practice area, such as special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), early help, health or adult social care. We need you to have the professional confidence to take a lead within your areas of responsibility aspart of a complex system and work collaboratively with colleagues and partners at all levels from across Surrey.In the role, you will have the opportunity to influence the wider direction of the Commissioning Division and support high-profile transformation programmes at the Council. You will also be working with friendly and supportive colleagues who are committedto delivering excellent outcomes.Some of the key market areas linked to this role will include:

  • Ofsted regulated provision delivered by Childrens Homes and Independent Fostering Agencies
  • Supported accommodation for young people
  • A range of statutory and non-statutory support and enabling services, including forensic testing; translation; independent assessments; children and young peoples advocacy; Reg 44 visitors; and kinship support services.
