Job Description

We are an international coating organisation supplying a diverse range of clients with laboratory standard finishes to a range of products. Working within our clean room production area the Assembly Assistant will assist with non-technical production and masking of intricate products, coatings and coverings using small hand help equipment and tools whilst ensuring the equipment is kept clean and running smoothly.We are seeking additional staff member due to winning a new client working with the following staff and hours being required to start asap on a 3 month temporary to permanent basis.The working hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.The Assembly Assistant works as part of a team of 15 in our modern clean room manufacturing facility with free parking. To be successful you should have an eye for detail and accurate manual dexterity skills gained from previous work within assembly, technology, production, electrical or similar environments where you are working to fine detail and accuracy. The role is available asap on a temporary to permanent basis.During the initial 3 months in this role, many tasks are learned and skills developed. Primary functions are the masking and/or de-masking of the customer products being coated. Other duties may include cleaning, surface preparation and inspection.Previous experience of working within a similar role would be advantageous, but we will also considered candidates who have previously worked within a role that requires good attention to detail, small and detailed work such as assembly, production, beauty/health, catering preparation, dentistry, hair dressing, clean room or medical/lab work.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Understand and follow the designated processes, work instructions, Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSP’s) and other written and/or verbal instructions.Perform basic masking/de-masking and inspection tasks using methods and materials as specified in the designated processes using small hand tools, microscope and /or other support equipment.Successfully complete Masker certification in accordance with internal documentation. Training will be providedInspect own work for quality complianceInspect own work for quality compliance.Comply with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling requirements when required and appropriate.Maintain a high level of punctuality and attendance.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:May perform daily tasks in a clean room environment where compliance to clean room protocol, including PPE and hygiene standards will be required.May perform scheduled clean room maintenance.Maintain a high level of personal hygiene.Maintain a neat and orderly work area.SKILLS:Good standard of written and spoken English skills.Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions, short correspondence and memos.Ability to perform basic math functions.Ability to work in a seated position for extended periods of time.High degree of manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination in order to perform precision masking and de-masking functions.Ability to distinguish between the colours of red, orange, yellow, blue, green and violet.In return we can offer you Mon to Fri working hours and free parking plus 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and an annual salary up to £18k.Please submit your CV asap for immediate consideration.
