Male Support Workerwaking nights - opportunity in Wistanston, Cheshire - 36 hours/weekThe roleGray Healthcare has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Support Worker to join their team in Wistanston, supporting a predominately none-verbal gentleman with a learning disability, Autism and Epilepsy. Who presents with a range of behaviours typicalof those with sensory integration issues and Autism.The person supported loves going for long walks in the countryside, swimming, trampolining and days out to theme parks.At home he particularly enjoys watching cartoons on the television, doing jigsaws and playing games.The support is provided in a 2 bedroom flat in Wistanston, Cheshire. The team is 3-to-1 days, 2-to-1 waking nights, support by a team of male Support Workers.The vacancy is for 36 hours comprising 3 x 12 hour waking night shifts, 8am to 8pm @ £12.00 per hour.The candidateWe are looking for experienced Support Workers for this team who have a manual driving license to drive the mobility vehicle.We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience as a Support Worker within Autism, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Mental Health.You will have an interest, motivation and enthusiasm to develop experience and skills to work with people with complex needs. Ideally you will have at least Level 3 in Health and Social Care or a willingness to work towards the qualification within GrayHealthcare.You will be able to manage difficult situations calmly and work within agreed evidence based PBS plans. You will ideally have experience of working with PECS, although training can be provided. You be able to complete good quality support records, detailingthe activities of daily living.
