Duty SolicitorWirralFull Time/Part Time A Duty Solicitor is wanted for an opportunity with a highly rated Wirral law firm with a solid reputation for its Criminal Law advice. Applications are invited from experienced, hardworking Duty Solicitors who are motivated to always deliver the highest levelsof representation in the Criminal Law process. Salary is negotiable and dependent on experienceThe successful candidate will join a busy and successful Criminal Law department, managing a full and varied caseload that may include general and serious crime plus VHCC depending on experience. Day to day duties will include;Responsible to the head of theMagistrates team,Servicing own duty slots,Attend on clients, taking instructions and acting upon the same,Case preparation including Trials,Advocacy,Diary management,Briefing Counsel where necessary,Keep up to date with Criminal Law, attend seminarsand comply with the firms training requirements, Review and sign off all files before they are passed for billing,Composing letters for dictation including files notes/telephone notes etc & general administration tasks in relation to individual file management.As a Criminal Duty Solicitor you will undertake criminal defence work, to provide legal advice and assistance/ representation of suspects at the police station, represent defendants before magistrates court and preparation of their cases. The ideal candidateshould have a duty slot and must be willing to participate in the out-of hours police station rota working evenings and weekends sometimes.Supervisor status highly desirable.
