Job Title:Consultant in Palliative MedicineSalary: NHS Consultant pay scale (depending on experience), plus on-call supplementLocation: Bray Lake, MaidenheadHours: 8-10 PAs per week plus participation in the Consultant 2nd on call rotaAbout the Role:Competitive salary – with reference to the NHS Consultant pay scaleThames Hospice is a leading UK hospice providing specialist palliative care and end of life care to adults with advanced life limiting conditions as well as support to their loved ones and carers. During the pandemic our frontline clinical staff served their community and cared for those facing coronavirus as well as the most vulnerable in our society facing a life limiting illness. As we move into a state of the art new hospice on Bray Lake, between Windsor and Maidenhead, our hospice will become a regional hub for specialist palliative care services offering care and support for patients and families at our 28 bed in patient unit, through day services and in their own homes. This is an exciting time to join our organisation as the move to the new hospice will allow us to expand and further develop our inpatient, outpatient, community and education services and facilities.We are seeking to appoint a Palliative Medicine Consultant to join the Palliative Medicine Consultant Team at Thames Hospice. This is a full time (10 PA) post. Applications to work less than full time will be considered.This post is mainly based at Thames Hospice delivering Specialist Palliative Medicine across East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire, providing consultant-led care for the hospice inpatient unit and community palliative care teams. The post holder will also work one day a week (2PAs) with the hospital palliative care team at Wexham Park Hospital.
