Rotating Morning and Afternoon Shifts.Reporting toLogistics ManagerWorkingrelationshipsAll -UK departments, European BranchesExternal companies, consultants etc. as required.Freight Forwarding AgentsTeam membersOther team leadersOther department staffLevel of experience(in years)More than 7 yearsKey tasksTo control overall warehouse operation within the shift, identify issues and opportunities for continuous improvements.Ensure all staff are trained to carry out their role effectively.To ensure all operational work is carried out in an incident free environment and all warehouse staff strictly follow H&S rules.Coordination on required warehouse works from other departments.Generating reports based on analytic data achieved from the warehouse process and the system work.Creation of new and improved, documentation and implementation of internal processes and proceduresEnsure health and safety standards are achieved on an on-going basis and actively promote individual responsibility for health and safety.Responsible for the physical appearance and safety of the working environment.To learn, fully understand and work within core value adopting lean management principles and approachActively promote, take responsibility for embedding a culture of employee engagement within the teamResponsible for managing 40 -70 employees (Task and discipline)Ensure that the team deliver Key Performance Indicators, where this performance is sustained and continually improved, with focus on qualityEnsure processes have a relevant standard operating procedure.Utilise continuous improvement tools and techniques and support team members in their applicationDevelop and maintain appropriate daily, weekly and monthly reporting mechanisms to monitor, control and improve performance - both operationally and financiallyLead daily team meetingsManage the allocation of work on a daily basis, controlling headcount and overtime budgets and ensuring cost, quality and delivery targets met.Promote flexibility through skills training and personal development.Monitor team absence and performance, taking action where necessary.Create and maintain an employee engagement culture, encouraging involvement from all team membersManage customer interfaces and expectations to ensure excellent customer service isreceivedCore skillsDegree qualified preferred but not necessary with demonstrable experience within a warehouse logistics disciplineAbility to analyse and interpret data with strong attention to detailExcellent communication and coordination, with both internal and external stakeholdersIT literacy particularly with Microsoft Office packagesData analysis and reportingWarehouse logistics IT system handlingUnderstanding of Supply Chain PrinciplesStrong organisation and time management skillsTakes a hands-on approach with self-starting ability and inquisitive natureAbility to work as part of a teamAutomotive background preferred but not essential.
