Job Description

Regional Pharmacy ManagerHours: Full time (37.5 hours)Salary: Up to £62,000 (dependent on experience) + fantastic benefitsWe are looking for an individual who will;

  • Lead the clinical pharmacy service across the region, including training and development of staff across oncology, haematology and the wider surgical setting
  • Line manage a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across the region
  • Lead and be responsible for all medicines management, pharmacy practice, quality assurance, audit, risk management and clinical governance matters related to medicines across JV North sites
  • Develop and drive the overall pharmacy strategy for JV North in line with corporate directions
    • Duties and Responsibilities
  • To provide a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to inpatients and outpatients, including prescription monitoring, the provision of drug information, medicines reconciliation and patient counselling
  • To ensure that all chemotherapy protocols are maintained and validated on the electronic prescribing system (iQemo)
  • To review and authorise the use of new chemotherapy protocols within the service alongside the clinical governance lead
  • To lead on the provision of SACT within the service, including cytotoxics, intrathecal chemotherapy and ATMP’s and ensure that local and national guidance is adhered to
  • To ensure that hospital policies relating to medicines use are promoted and followed within the department and to actively monitor and promote safe use of medicines.
  • To lead on compliance of the controlled drugs policy and legislation by undertaking regular audits and reviewing practice
  • To participate in an out of hours, on call rota providing 24 hours pharmacy provision across both hospital sites
  • To represent JV North pharmacy across local and corporate committees for medicines including controlled drugs, medicines management and medical gases
  • To review pharmacy services against agreed KPIs and SLAs with external providers to ensure compliance with contracts and service needs
    • Skills and Experience
  • Extensive experience in a hospital setting within a specialist area
  • Registered with the GPhC
  • Specialist knowledge in haematology pharmacy
  • Specialist knowledge in oncology pharmacy
  • Demonstrative ability in Management or leadership
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
