Action for ChildrenSalary:£21,100 to £24,800 per annumContract/Hours:Permanent Full Time 37 hours a week. 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday plus flexibility to work Bank Holidays.Location:Wilmslow, Cheshire.Closing Date: Midnight on 19th July2022. We work to ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting change to theirlives.About the role and where you will be working:HMP Styal is an early years mother and baby unit that offers holistic support for mothers and their babies up to 18 months old, who are often vulnerable and may have complex emotional and health needs. We work closely with a range of professionals and aspart of a team to offer the best positive outcomes for the mothers on the unit and this is a vital part of our work. We are looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic early years practitioner to lead the nursery on a day to day basis and act as deputy whenthe Practice lead is away from the unit.As an Early Years Coordinatoryou will:

  • Provide leadership for the learning programmes for individual or groups of children. appropriate to their needs and developmental stages in accordance with Early Years legislation and guidance.
  • Overseeing and Leading on the nursery environment, planning and childrens development files.
  • Supervising staff members and leading Early Years group meetings.
  • Lead in the centres self-evaluation and action planning for Ofsted.
  • Preparing and supervising dedicated areas/rooms within the setting on specific working patterns through planning, managing ratio of children, provision of a stimulating and appropriate range of activities and ensuring health and care needs are met.
  • Assuming the role of a key worker to a group of children and work in partnership with parents/carers, catering for all childrens individual needs; observing, planning and evaluating development activities; keeping accurate records and maintaining regularcontact and communication with parents.
What Youll Bring:Our job description for the Early Years Coordinator outlines the requirements of the role but the must-haves are:
  • Level 3 early years and childcare qualification e.g. NNEB, CACHE, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education.
  • Experience working in an early years child care setting or a setting working with children aged 0 to 5 years.
  • Safeguarding Level 2 or ability to achieve.
  • Paediatric First Aid Qualification or ability to achieve.
  • Thorough current working knowledge of childrens emotional, physical, psychological and educational developmental needs from 0 to 5 years.
