We are excited to announce a new post for our secure hospital psychology department, and are seeking a Registered clinical or forensic Psychologist to join our team. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with experience in the assessment and treatment of sexual offending, and those experienced in working with individuals with ‘personality disorder’ diagnoses. The role will involve working in to a community sexual offending risk assessment service, as well as working with clients with a range of offences in our in-patient service. It is expected that you will evidence advanced practice skills in at least one area of specialised area of psychology, with good knowledge of others. Training in, and experience of working with, trauma-informed approaches would be an advantage.The post holder will have responsibility for the delivery of psychological services to patients in the hospital setting, with autonomy to deliver individualised treatment as identified through case formulations, and you may be involved in some group work. You will work alongside the staff in your ward area to support issues such as the advancement of psychologically informed approaches, staff well-being, and the new trauma-informed clinical model for the service. You may be involved in assessing individuals’ suitability for hospital transfer and treatment. In the community, you will work in to a specialist team assessing risk of sexual harm, and will provide psychological consultation to this. The post will provide the opportunity to contribute to service-based evaluation and audit, service development and teaching/ training.
