Job Description

Data Analyst Location: Hull - Hybrid workingSalary £35,000-£45,000 (dependant on experience)Role OverviewTo support growing client demands and an expanding product range, Principal IT are now looking for an experienced Data Analyst on behalf of one of our clients in Hull.Working with the NHS and other public sector clients across the UK the company uses market leading web applications and data mapping tools to help clients make decisions about service commissioning, estates planning and budgets.The Data and Information Analyst will join a small but growing team, backed by a top national employer, to modernise technology platforms to enhance existing products and help take the business forward with new products and service offers.Due to the nature of the data being worked on we are seeking a Data Analyst, with experience working within, or alongside the NHS, to support clients with their data challenges. The data analyst will understand the client context and the data available toprovide useful data outputs to support business cases and strategies, typically for service or estates planning.   • Interpretation of customer requirements to design and create technical specifications and data models for the development team
  • Data wrangling and efficiently cleansing, structuring and importing data from multiple sources accurately
  • Writing and running queries in SQL to manipulate and report on data as required
  • Creation, management, and normalisation of multiple databases
  • Presenting to customers, leading client conversations and delivering training sessions
  • Project managing data led projects
RequirementsEssential
  • Experience of working with / within the NHS and other public sector data sets
  • Educated to at least degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject area and/or significant experience in a similar environment or role
  • A passion for interactive maps and data visualisation
  • Ability to work across multiple applications and projects, in a fast paced, outputs focused environment
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
  • Must have great attention to detail with strong numerate and analytical skills
  • Advanced skills in data handling and management using applications such as Microsoft Excel and text editing software
  • Experience working with different databases types, using SQL to query data
  • Logical thinker with excellent communication skills to take and interpret client briefs
  • Excellent project management and organisation skills
  • A flexible approach to working hours, to meet the needs of the business
Desirable
  • Knowledge on Power BI or GIS systems
  • Knowledge on UX/UI
  • Knowledge of cloud servers, IT Infrastructure and networks

Please note - due to this being a hybrid role we are only looking for candidates able to travel to Hull and vsit the office 2-3 days a week minimum. Fully remote working will not be considered.
